How to map a Gothic lock
Three details are enough to reproduce the in-game mechanism precisely.

Number the gates
Gate 1 is the plate furthest from you. Count toward the front plate where the lockpick enters.
Mark both pins
Holes run 1–7 from left to right. Set the brass start pin and the green target pin for every gate.
Add directional links
Cycle each cell through none, same (S), and opposite (O) to match how another gate reacts.

Same (S) moves the linked gate in the same direction. Opposite (O) moves it in the reverse direction. Links affect one other gate directly and do not chain.
